Akatsuki Night In: Drinking Game

Oh dear. To put it politely… oh dear. As you hadn’t managed to think of one single thing to do in over ten minutes, the job had been passed onto someone else, and that someone was Hidan. It had only taken him 0.4 of a second to make up his mind on what to do. He had dashed off, leaving you all in suspense, reappearing moments later with two crates of sake, announcing to you all,
“Ring of fire, anyone?”
And that is where you are now. The game has been going on for the past forty minutes. Many people have dropped out by now, either voluntarily or just by passing out. For Tobi – the poor thing – it was his first time drinking so… well let’s just say he had to be taped down to his bed by the combined strength of Deidara and Itachi. Now as for you on the other hand, you’re having a wonderful time! You’ve never really drank before – well not this much at least – and so it’s all rather new and interesting to you. Well, that and you have managed to get a good look at a lot of half naked Akatsuki members after you’d picked up the Ace of diamonds (or as it had been allocated during the game, the ‘remove three items of clothing’ card).
The only people left in the game now are you, Kisame and Hidan. It’s a pretty obvious line-up. Kisame is well-known for being a heavyweight drinker and Hidan was the one who thought of the game so obviously he’s a strong player. You look down at the now-blurred-by-your-vision ring of cards and grab hold of one. You pull it from the circle and turn it over. A red six. Damn. You flip it over to show the other two, only to have them both howl with laughter.
“Take some- something off, ____!”
“Ahaha, ‘tachi-chan, get a camera!”
You stick your tongue out at them both childishly. “Nu-uhhhhh, that’s not fair! It’s impolite to tell a lady to remove her clothes!”
Hidan laughs again, throwing his bottle around merrily. “Sucks to be you, bitch! Now take your pick! Bra or trousers! It’s your choice!”
You sulk, crashing your head down onto the table heavily. “I want a forfeit!”
There’s a pause… “Great! I have just the idea!” Kisame yells enthusiastically. You look up, only to see Kisame pointing off into the distance. You look in the direction he is pointing, only to see Zetsu sprawled out across the floor. You look back at Kisame and giggle.
“Don’t be silly, fishface! I’m not kissing that thing again! He’s disgusting and you’ve already made me do it twice!”
Kisame raises his eyebrow. “Clothes or kissing! Make up your mind, shortie!”
“H-hey!” You say, getting to your feet unsteadily. “Don’t go- don’t go calling me short you…you big…big giant fish thing, you!”
You suddenly burst out laughing, finding what you just said hilarious. You fall to the floor, clutching your sides and gasping for breath. A split second later you sit up straight, your face completely impassive.
“But no-…” you crack a small smile, unable to keep your face straight. “I won’t do either! I fold! I’m out!” You rise to your feet again, taking your bottle with you. “So long! Farewell!” You down what’s left of the bottle. “Auf Wiedersehen, toodlepip!”
With that, you turn on your heel, toss the empty bottle over you shoulder, pick up your clothing and skip off out of the room, heading for the back door to the hideout. As soon as you’re out of sight you stop skipping and put your clothes back on. When you go to set off again you grab hold of one of the walls, walking along it to steady yourself. You would never have admitted it back there, but you feel ill. You know you’ve had too much to drink and now you’re going to have to pay for it. You need some fresh air badly. You walk along the corridors, tripping now and then and laughing at yourself, and eventually make it out of the base. You spread your arms wide and take a deep breath, letting the cold air hit you. In the time it takes for you to fall to the floor, rolling about like a little child, you have an idea. You sit up again, attempting to pat the grass out of your hair, then look at the entrance to the forest just up ahead. Deep, deep inside that forest, your small (well rather big really) secret spot is hidden. You decide, since you haven’t really been there in a while, now is a better time than any to go and revisit it.
You push yourself up off the ground, dusting yourself off. As you turn to face the forest, your face suddenly hardens. The look of concentration in your eyes is so immense. You take your stance ready for action and wait quietly… then you burst out laughing and push off from the ground, sending yourself soaring forwards and up into the treetops.
You hop from tree to tree, a happy spring in your step- the ill feeling having disappeared for now. You manage to miss your footing a few times and fall quite a distance, only to catch hold of something each time and send yourself hurtling back up again.
After about four minutes of solid running, and another eight of sauntering ever so happily you finally arrive. You perch yourself on the tree branch, looking around. When you don’t see anyone, you smile and jump down, landing softly on the ground below.
“Wow!” You yell enthusiastically. “It’s even better than I remember!”
The large waterfall in front of you is reflecting the shine from the moon, making the pool at the bottom of it shimmer with thousands of little lights. You quickly throw off your shoes and socks, not being able to wait for the feeling of the soft grass between your toes. You giggle as the blades tickle the bottom of your feet.
As quick as a flash your body changes. You begin to feel funny again, your insides tingling. Before you know what’s going on you’re on your hands and knees, your body shaking slightly, your face as white as a sheet.
“Urghh… I knew I shouldn’t have drunk…uhh… drink- no…drank so much… hah hah-”
You look at the floor, trying to stop yourself being sick – though since the whole world seems to be swaying, even closing your eyes doesn’t seem to work.
“H-huh?” You say, feeling someone taking hold of your hair and holding it out of the way. You look over your shoulder. “O-oh! Hello Sasori!” You laugh. “Thanks!”
“That’s alright.” The redhead says, looking at you casually, somewhat amused by the colour of your face.
After a consecutive five minutes without you throwing up, you decide you’re feeling better so Sasori lets go of your hair and you roll over so you’re sat on the grass. You pat the grass in front of you with your feet and tell Sasori to sit. He looks at you with his eyebrow raised, but complies and sits down.
“So!” You say, clapping your hands together and giggling. “Why is Sasori here and why doesn’t he seem drunk?”
“Well one, because I decided to come for a walk, then heard something over here and it turned out to be you, and two, it’s because I’m not drunk.”
“Huh?” You say, cocking your head to the side. “But I saw you drink a full bottle! You have to be at least a little bit!”
You point your finger at him accusingly, thinking he must be some sort of demon with a super fast liver. He seems to notice you’re having trouble with figuring out why he’s not drunk and says,
“To get drunk you need blood. I’m a wooden puppet.”
You gasp dramatically.
“I never thought of that!” You pause, thinking something over in your head. When you work it out you give Sasori a sly eye. “Why did you drop out of the game tonight then if you weren’t drunk?”
Sasori smiles lightly.
“True, I could have won it really…I just didn’t want to.”
You laugh at him, tipping over backwards and banging your head on the ground. Sasori leans forward slightly, trying to figure out what it was he had said to make you laugh so much. That’s when you spring up again, nearly bashing foreheads with him and say,
“Come on, Sasori!”
You stand up quickly, grabbing Sasori’s hand and pulling him up with you, then you pull him across to the large pool of water. You wrap your hands around his arm and jump forward into the pool, intending on taking Sasori with you, only he realises what’s going on too soon and manages to stop himself being pulled in, and as he is stronger than you, he stops you too by holding his arm above the water- you dangling off it. You look at him and pout. He only reacts by giving you a small smile. You kick about in midair.
“Aww c’mon, Sasori! Pleeaaaaasseeee? I want to go swimming!”
He gives out a small laugh.
“____, I’m not exactly stopping you. I’m just stopping you from taking me with you.”
“Huh?” You look up, realising it is actually you who is still holding onto Sasori’s arm. You laugh hysterically and let go, dropping down and splashing into the water.
Sasori, stood on the banks of the pool, realises that since you’re that drunk you’ve probably forgotten how to-
“Aahh!!” you yell, flailing around in the water. “I don’t remember how to swim!”
Sasori, masking his emotions well, only lets out a quiet chuckle before bending down and scooping you out. You cough and splutter, having drank quite a lot of the water, then yell angrily,
“Hey! Why did you pull me out? I wanted to have a swim!”
He looks at you inquisitively. “You just said you couldn’t remember how to swim.”
“I said no such thing! I’m a wonderful swimmer!” You say, trying to flip over in Sasori’s arms to show him how you can do the front-crawl. He ignores you and lowers you to the ground, lying you down. You go to get straight up, heading back to the water, but Sasori knows that that’s what you’re trying to do so he pins your down with his arms and legs. You complain for a while, but then it turns to fits of giggles. Sasori doesn’t try to put too much pressure on you but as you are from Akatsuki, it takes quite a lot of strength to hold you in place.
When you seem to settle down a bit, Sasori takes the pressure off your shoulders a little, letting you move your upper-half a little more freely. Seeing this, you take the chance and shoot up, catching Sasori’s lips. It’s only for a second but your stomach builds with butterflies. Ah the things you do when you’re drunk…- though you have to admit, this is probably one of the better outcome- oh damn it! You’re not even going to remember this tomorrow! You inwardly want to cry, though outwardly you’re just beginning to break away from Sasori’s surprised lips. Your head crashes back to the floor, having strained to hold it up for so long, only –surprisingly- Sasori’s head follows. He presses his lips up against yours again, one of his hands slipping under your back, pulling you up a little and holding you slightly closer to him. You smile, holding your hands to his cheeks, rubbing your thumbs in circles over his skin. He lies you back down on the ground, then with his free hand he cups your chin, making the kiss that little bit sweeter.
A few moments later and you promptly pass out. Sasori looks down at you, sighing to himself, then he sits up, pulling your body up with him. He throws you over his shoulder and stands up, then picks up your shoes and heads back to the hideout, deep in thought.
* * *
Your eyelids open slowly, the sunlight through your window too painful to look at. You pull yourself up to a sitting position then you clutch at your head. The horrible throbbing just behind your eyes. Oh how much had you had last night?! Every noise around you seems to be amplified, and as you’re living in the Akatsuki base, there’s always noise. One annoying noise in particular.
“____!!!!!!!!! HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY!? TOBI WANTED TO KNOW BECAUSE ____ DIDN’T LOOK TOO WELL YESTERDAY NIGHT!”
You throw your hands over your ears, trying to block Tobi out (who had just barged into your room and run up to your bed).
“T-Tobi…thanks for caring but… leave me alone, I feel dead.”
Tobi gasps from behind his mask. “Oh no! ____’S DEAD!?” He stands back and starts to shake. “Is ____ a ghost then? Tobi can still see ____.”
Your eye twitches. “I feel dead. FEEL- oww, ____ don’t shout… Tobi, would you be so kind as to leave me alone for a while?”
Tobi nods. “Okay, ____!!! See you later then!!”
And with that, Tobi runs out of your room, slamming the door behind him. You wince. Urgh, what on earth had happened last night? It’s all just one mushy blur in your head. You remember Hidan giving you a bottle… you remember parts of the game but then after having to lick Itachi’s elbow you really don’t remember anything. Damn. It was probably a really great night as well!
You pull your head from your hands and look up, hearing your door creak open again.
“Tobi, I thought I asked- Oh…Sasori? Oh, I’m sorry; I didn’t know it was you.”
He gives you a curt nod and walks into the room, gently closing the door behind him. You cock your head to the side.
“Umm, if you don’t mind me asking, Sasori…what are you doing in here?”
“I think you’ll need a few of these.” He says, producing a box of aspirin from his cloak.
“Oh,” You say. “Thank you. I guess I must have drunk a lot for someone like you to have noticed me.”
He nods slightly. “Something like that.”
In general you and Sasori have never really spoken before. You’re really only acquaintances. You have spoken with each other a few times, but not very often. It seems strange now that he would just walk into your room and give you-
Oh wow...’ It hits you like a ton of bricks. Your cheeks turn pink and you start to stammer.
“S-Sasori…last night…I’m so sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking! I was so ridiculously drunk I must not have known-”
He bends down so his face is an inch from yours; his lips an inch from yours. He smiles slyly.
“Don’t be sorry, ____. I’m glad it happened.”
Then he leans in, catching your lips with his. His smile only widens, as does yours, when he feels you bringing your hands up and wrapping them around his neck, pulling him forward onto the bed. He obliges quite happily, landing on top of you and slipping his arms around your stomach in a gentle embrace.
